Description
This trail starts from the Crags Campground trailhead. You'll take a clear and well-used path through the forest. You'll see the Devil's Playground #664A trail after only a few minutes. Continue along the Crags Trail which follows Fourmile Creek northeast through a valley. The trail will be wooded at first, but will eventually open up into a meadow with lovely views of rocky cliffs and the rough western flank of Pikes Peak. There is a small stream crossing about a third of the way that can be overgrown with brush - but there was a good spot with logs to stay dry. The trail will become more clear again along the creek. It will then re-enter forest and gain some elevation as it turns north along a small ridge. The ridge becomes rocky so keep an eye for the path/cairns. This rockiness means good views! The trail ends on the top of a rocky outcropping with excellent views and some nice rock formations to take pictures with.
