Description
The Blackstone Beach Trail heads 1.1 miles out along the varied eastern Aruba coastline, ultimately accessing Blackstone Beach and the scenic natural bridges above the rocky shore. As such, visitors who make the walk can expect to find a cove with waves washing up onto dark rounded stones with covered picnic benches above the high tide line. The hike itself begins at the parking area for the old natural bridge site. Many visitors stick to a quick look at the remaining landscape and stopping into the cafe, so the moment you walk onto the trail, you'll likely find yourself separate from the crowds and the ORV tours. An unsigned by easy-to-follow dirt path passes Shark Bay and the beautiful Andicuri Beach, two scenic beach coves, before heading across a stone formation with the sound of waves emanating through some of the blowholes.Lying a little higher in the hills is an ORV trail, which tends to see clusters of vehicles on tours driving to beach at certain times of the day.The trail alternates between dirt and stone, before reaching the natural bridges. The Tripod Bridge formation contains three natural bridges that touch down at a point where visitors can walk to and catch views of the surrounding cove and beach area. The cerulean blue waters wash through rocky cliffs before rolling up on the shore.Following your time at the beach, hikers can retrace their route, or make a point at stopping at one of the sandy beach coves, to head back to the parking area.Blackstone Beach has rough tides swirling around shallow rocks, no lifeguards, and is unsafe for swimming. There is no shade and no amenities after leaving the parking area. Reaching the parking lot requires a drive down a rough and rutted dirt road that may become unpassable following wet weather. No vehicles without high clearance should attempt the drive.
