Description
This trail runs between the Siouxon Trail #130 and Huffman Peak Trail #129. A log bridge across !Siouxon Creek marks the start of this trail - this is one of the few places to cross the creek without wading. After crossing the creek, the Chinook Creek Trail #130A then goes on to soon ford Chinook Creek twice - which is not easy to do (and may be hazardous) at high water. The 50-foot cascade of Chinook Creek Waterfall comes into view after your final crossing of the creek. A very short use-trail here will take you to a view of the falls from below - where it plunges down to a clear green pool. The trail then climbs the slope west of the falls to a viewpoint where you can see the top of the falls as it starts its plunge. The trail in this section can be a little unnerving as it is narrow and traverses the steep slope above the falls. After that, however, the trail simply continues up at a steady grade through an old-growth forest before ending at its junction with Huffman Peak Trail #129 just west of Forest Road 6403.
