Blacklock Point Connector Trail

The trail to Blacklock Point starts at a trailhead at the end of Airport Road at the Cape Blanco State Airport. Approximately 0.9 miles north along this trail (which is actually an old road), you'll come to a junction. The trail to Blacklock Point veers left (west) here, while the !Blacklock Point Connector Trail (also an old road) continues straight ahead (north). The usual hike is to turn left here and follow signs out to the impressive views from the point. After that, you return to a junction with the Floras to Blacklock Connector and follow that north past three viewpoints along the top of the cliffs. About 1.2 miles north on the Floras to Blacklock Connector, you'll come to another junction. Going left (north) here will keep you on the Floras to Blacklock Connector toward Floras Lake, while turning right (south) will put you on the !Blacklock Point Connector Trail for a short hike back to Blacklock Point and the trailhead near the airport. The purpose of this connector is to allow you to enjoy the views from Blacklock Point without having to commit to hiking to Floras Lake and without having to do much backtracking.
