Point to Point
Start off through light Cypress forest. begin ascending to the ridge via the well-worn path. The trail is not marked but its obvious to follow. A steep ascent with some scrambling leads to a ridge. Traverse the ridge and stop to looks at the rock windows that are about halfway along the trail.
At the other end of the ridge, a final ascent to the top of the trail has loose footing with rocks and pine needles. Coming down again takes a bit of care. The last couple of hundred yards are now well-marked but there are some infrequent cairns. The top itself is a field os lava rocks with a great view of Oak Creek below.
