Description
Start the West Beach Trail at the base of Stearns Wharf and then head up shore along the wide and sandy beach parallel to W. Cabrillo Blvd. This beach section ends when you come across the Santa Barbara Harbor, at which point you can follow the marina. Then be sure to turn left at the breakwater so that you continue to hike along the harbor. At this point you'll pass the Santa Barbara Maritime Museum and the old U.S. Naval Reserve complex. Once you arrive at the oceanfront edge of the harbor you can turn around to return to Stearns Wharf.Parking near Stearns Wharf is limited to what's available on Cabrillo Blvd. Thanks to John McKinney, The Trailmaster, for sharing this trail description.
