Honey Run Trail is actually three diverse trails in one. Starting at the trailhead along McCubbins Drive, this linear section of the trail is all singletrack and not very technical other than small crushed rock sections. From this point, the trail branches off into two separate loops. The Honey Run Trail: North Loop goes through a bottom woodland. This loop winds around Honey Run Creek before coming back out to Anderson Hollow Road. The Honey Run Trail: South Loop offers a variety of terrain on the mostly singletrack trail. There are some views of the lake when the leaves are off the trees and some semi-technical parts as well. There is a tough climb on the fire road as well about halfway through the trailThe round-trip distance is about 12.75 miles when starting at the trailhead off McCubbins Drive and hiking all three sections; however, you should feel free to add or subtract portions as you wish. You really can't go wrong here!
