There is a four car parking lot at the head of the trail to both Edwin Leid Trail and Vaughn's Trail.
Path Type
Loop
Beginning with the Edwin Leid Trail, you'll be on packed gravel road for about 0.5 miles. Then you come to White Clay Creek Preserve Parking Lot #3. Once you cross London Tract Road, the trail will follow the road to the left for about 75 yards. The trail bends right to climb an incline at an opening. Stay to the right as it appears farm land is to your immediate left. Follow the trail under the trees and continually watch for signs (from London Tract Road to this point is not well marked on my map as Edwin Leid Trail is not marked for this section on Hiking Project). The trail will spill out onto a gravel road and signs indicate turning right and walk down the road. Follow the fencing to the bridge and before the bridge turn left - this will put you on the PennDel Trail. The trail will follow the East Branch of the White Clay Creek. Eventually, the trail will pass the White Clay Creek Preserve Parking Lot #1 on the left and prepare to cross London Tract Road. Once across the road, Vaughn's Trail will turn immediately left and follow London Tract Road. After about 0.4 miles, the trail ascends very quickly - very steep, but great views of the preserve. The trail follows to the left of the backyards of homes in a neighborhood, and then turns right between two homes to lead to Fern Ridge Road. Turn left onto Fern Ridge Road and walk about 0.10 miles until directed to turn right, again between two homes. Then turn left behind the backyards of some homes and follow the trail to its end. The final descent is very steep.
There is a partially standing stone house on Edwin Leid Trail.
