Description
From the east edge of the parking area, look for the start of the Oak Creek Canyon Trail (Whole Access Trail). This path follows an interpretive nature trail and is well maintained;it was designed to be wheelchair accessible and has interpretive signs with Braille that describe the area. At 0.4 miles at a junction, turn right to head south on a connector trail. At the next junction, take another right to head west on Los Robles Trail West. Around 0.9 miles from the trailhead, the trail begins to climb a little more steadily, though the switchbacks ease the grade somewhat. However, some of the steeper sections can be tricky and loose gravel and rocks make for unreliable footing. At 2.9 miles, the trail crosses a private road - be respectful and stay on the trail. At 3.7 miles Los Robles Trail West meets the Rosewood Trail by a short connector;turn right and briefly head north before taking a left to head toward Angel Vista Point. There's a nice picnic table for a great lunch spot. A high point by the table offers great views of Conejo Valley, Santa Monica Mountains, the Ventura-Oxnard Plain, the Channel Islands, and the Pacific beyond. After a nice rest, retrace your steps;once you reach the junction with Oak Creek Canyon take a right to head down the eastern section of trail and then head back to your car. Thanks to John McKinney, The Trailmaster, for sharing this trail description.
