Description
Located southeast of Lake Hemet on the west side of the San Jacinto Mountains, Fobes Trail 4E04 is a 10.9-mile out-and-back trail. It runs northeast from Highway 74 to a junction with the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) at the Desert Divide. It features a moderately rated climb that leads through chaparral and oak woodland. This trail is suitable for running, hiking, and backpacking.The route gains approximately 1600 feet of elevation and reaches almost 6,000 feet above sea level at Fobes Saddle, where it intersects with the PCT. From there, you will find expansive views overlooking the Santa Rosa Mountains and the valley below. If you're interested in doing a longer backpacking trip, the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) provides options for extending the distance. LOCATIONThis trail is located off Fobes Ranch Road, a dirt road off Highway 74.
