Description
From the trailhead the surface is a gravel road which soon turns into a smooth, flat trail that ascends to connect with the Ridge Trail. This trail has a boardwalk through the bog and a fun "I Am Groot" stump! From there it ascends further up the Ridge Loop until you see the sign for the trail to Echo Summit. This short, steep trail climbs to the summit of Echo Mountain, which is a bald knob of rock with views of both Spring Lake and Lake Desire, and makes a nice rest stop. From there it is a fun descent all the way back to the trailhead.
