Description
The trailhead for Summit Trail is located at the shelter area and parking lot, to the south of the park office. From the parking area, the trail is joined by the Swamp Trail, and they go together for 0.15 miles as you begin climbing the side of the ridge. After the Swamp Trail turns left, continue up the Summit Trail, climbing up to the ridgeline. At about 0.7 miles, there is a bench where you can sit and enjoy the view of the Delaware Water Gap and Kittatinny Mountain. Immediately after this, you'll also cross the junction with Spring Trail which heads down off the ridge in both directions. Continue on the Summit Trail. About one mile in, the trail summits and crosses over Jenny Jump Mountain. After taking in the view through the trees, head down the other side of the summit where the trail ends at a junction with Ghost Lake Trail which heads right, and the Group Campground Connector which continues straight and leads down tot the group campground at the end of East Road (an access road to the park's campsites).
