The Chittenden Brook Loop Trail begins and ends at the Chittenden Brook Campground Trailhead in the Green Mountain National Forest. From the trailhead, follow the Chittenden Brook Trail as it loops through dense northern hardwood and spruce-fir forest. Halfway through, the trail crosses Chittenden Brook—expect steady flow and potentially high water after rain—before continuing along the outer loop.
Numerous trail crossings offer variation and some opportunities for an early return. Along the way, watch for moose sign, listen for songbirds in the canopy, and catch filtered views of the Green Mountains near Brandon Gap. This moderate route makes a rewarding half-day outing, especially in late summer or early fall.
