Point to Point
Trail starts from Pine Mountain Campground near the Pine Mountain Observatory. Continue on the road for about 3/4 mile until the road makes a sharp right turn on a saddle. Currently, there is a small 3-sided barbed wire corral at this point. Follow outside of the fence (there is no exit from the corral), and you'll see a recently made trail heading up to a ridge. The trail follows this ridge up and down a few summits about one mile until it reaches a large cairn with a post in it. This is the summit of Pine Mountain. The trail continues for about another three-quarters of a mile until it ends at another post, offering a nice viewpoint. Return the way you came.
