Old Carriage Trail

To get here, park at Red Lock Trailhead and hike on the towpath north. There are two entrances and the trail can be done at either direction. You'll hike up moderate inclines on the same path carriages used to take to get their farm goods to the towpath. Certain sections are very narrow and difficult in the mud, snow, or ice. The trail borders deep and beautiful ravines with a side trail to an overlook. The southern end is partially paved an open to bikes only for a shortcut to the bike trail. Most of the trail is closed to bikes.
