The main trail in the Vineyard Mountain Eagle Scout Trail system, and the longest. There are two trailheads: one along Red Top Mountain Rd SE and one at the Riverside Day Use Area.
The trail offers shoreline views of Lake Allatoona and an overlook view of Allatoona Dam. This trail is used to access Vineyard Mountain Trail 3.
There are a number of side trails that lead to clearings along the shoreline of Lake Allatoona. This trail is well-blazed with yellow blazes. A map is available here.
