Description
This trail is an existing part of the Cross Charlotte Trail (XCLT) that travels alongside Clarks Creek in North Charlotte. The trail starts off of Mallard Creek Greenway near Mallard Creek Rd. and ends at Fairlea Dr. near Prosperity Church Rd and I-485. Once completed, the Cross Charlotte Trail will connect from the South Carolina border all the way to UNCC for a total of around 30 miles. Clarks Greenway begins at the branch between Mallard Creek and Clarks Creek. The trailhead for Clarks Creek is at Mallard Creek Elementary School. After a short walk from the elementary school, users can either head north or south on Clarks Creek Greenway. If users choose to head south, they will stay on this greenway that follows Clarks Creek for one mile before reaching the branch and connection with Mallard Creek Greenway. If users choose to head north, they will follow Clarks Creek for 1.6 miles. This greenway winds through residential areas and ends at Fairlea Drive. There are several neighborhood access points along Clarks Creek Greenway. Parking is available at Mallard Creek Elementary School (9801 Mallard Creek Rd, Charlotte, NC 28262.)
