Access Issues
DuPont State Recreational Forest is a very popular multiuse, bi-directional trail system, so be on the lookout for hikers, horses, and bikers. It is normally open in any weather although it can close in extended periods of freeze / thaw during the winter.

Description
Cascade starts off of Sheep Mountain near the end of Pine Tree and ends on Cascade Lake Road, 1/3 of a mile after the intersection with the start of Pine Tree. Cascade is relatively flat for the first 0.3 miles then climbs for 0.6 miles before ending in a 0.4-mile, fairly rowdy, downhill section. It is commonly used in conjunction with Pine Tree and Longside as an extra loop to add more mileage to a traditional The Best of Dupont: Burnt Mtn. / Cedar Rock Big Rock Figure-Eight loop.
