Description
Lost Lake Trail is found in the forest, at a signed trail junction at the 0.8 mile mark along Castle River Divide Trail. Go west (left at this trail junction to hike Lost Lake Trail. Lost Lake Trail climbs gently through the forest until just before it reaches Lost Lake where it runs through a small, lush meadow. At the far edge of the meadow one can see Lost Lake. Then almost immediately, one comes to the lake where the trail ends. On the far side of Lost Lake are rock walls of the Great Divide with steep meadows leading down to the lake - a very picturesque setting. Hiking to Lost Lake for lunch and a swim on hot days, is a great day trip when staying at Snowshoe trail camp.
