They usually put up a "Trail Closed" sign after a mudslide but before they can clean it. I usually read it as "rxh at your own risk."

Description
Ample parking for this great trail can be found at the Hayward Plunge pool. Go past the playground and small amphitheater to the trailhead. There are lots of spur trails, but the main one is well worn and easy to follow. You start out with a mostly flat, wide trail that follows Ward Creek past a few small waterfalls. Right before you go up the big wooden staircase, venture to your left to see some amazing street art in a drainage ditch. As you continue on the ups and downs of the second half of the trail there are several creek crossings. Unless you are crossing after a big rain, these will be easy to cross without getting wet. When you reach Campus Blvd, continue on, and you'll notice the that the trail picks up right across the road and continues to the east. The route continues as the same enjoyable path, though this portion will have a significant uphill. If you haven't had enough when you come to the end of the trail you can cross Oakes Drive to find a trail marker for the Greenbelt Hiking/Riding Trail Loop.
