Wyoming Trail to Lake Elmo

Starting from the north side of Dumont Lake heading generally northwest, the route begins as a doubletrack. The trail eventually transitions to singletrack and parallels Base Camp Rd. After the initial section of rolling terrain, stay left at the campground road and then keep straight at all intersections to the next section of the route. From here begin a fun, twisty hike down that ends at a creek and then transitions up a climb to Fishhook Lake. After hiking along the east side of the lake, stay left at the intersection for Lost Lake. Continue your journey through rolling, sometimes rocky, terrain to Lake Elmo, where you can have lunch, take a dip, and turn around. Other options to continue include staying straight for Buffalo Pass. Or turn left and connect with either Mountain View (and Steamboat Ski Area) or Fish Creek Falls Trail.
