Description
This hiking-only trail begins at the park headquarters at the "A" marker and heads south parallel to the park road for a little over three quarters of a mile. This section connects to a myriad of picnic areas while passing through patches of old growth forest. Eventually, the trail turns east and gets slightly farther from the park road in the Ancient Forest part of the park. This is the better third of this trail and is what most people will use. You can create a number of loops with other trails in the Ancient Forest, paths to picnic areas, and the main trails on the "oxbow" bend in the river. There are also more old growth trees along this part of the trail. The trail ends at the F Intersection on the Service Road Trail.
