From the Sherman Pass Trailhead to White Mountain Trailhead.
From the Sherman Pass TH, the trail heads down and to the east, crossing Highway 20 southward. Continue on the zig zagging trail heading south until you reach a trail junction with Sherman Loop Trail #72 at .7 miles. Head left staying on Trail #13. For the next 2 miles you'll go from a lush forest to remains from the 1988 fire that will be hopping with wildflowers in the right time of the year.
At 2.7 miles, you'll get to another junction with Trail #72, which would loop you back towards Sherman Pass TH. Stay south, left, on trail #13. At around 4 miles you'll come to a junction from the west, right side, with Snow Peak Trail #10. Continue south on trail #13. At approximately 4.5 miles, you'll see Snow Peak Cabin. This cabin is reservable at this website.
Continue south for another for another 1.7 miles, approximately 6.2 miles total, to a junction with Edds Mountain Trail #3. From here continue southward enjoying the great views of the surrounding peaks. At around 7.8 miles you'll see a junction with Trail #7 on your right. Continue through between Barnaby Buttes and through a maze of lodgepole pines until you reach a junction with Trail #70, on your left. Between the junction with Trail #7 and #70 there is an unmaintained spur that will lead you to the top of Barnaby Butte.
From here, continue south and you'll reach the 6750 ft mark on White Mountain. From this highpoint, you'll descend for the next 2.7 miles to the White Mountain TH, ending your trip.
