The Homer Wilson Ranch trail is a 1-mile out-and-back located in Big Bend National Park in southwest Texas. The trail runs from Ross Maxwell Scenic Drive to the site of the ranch and back. In the early 20th century, the Homer Wilson Ranch was one of the largest ranches in the Chisos Mountains. What remains of the ranch is now located in Big Bend National Park and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The trail is popular among hikers, walkers, and history buffs. There are no dogs allowed on the Homer Wilson Ranch Trail.It is located 7.7 miles from the northern end of Rose Maxwell scenic drive. The site of the ranch can be viewed from an overlook near the road, or hiked along a rocky, sandy trail that leads to what remains of the stone structure. The trail follows an old dirt road that is well used by visitors and provides a pleasant opportunity to enjoy a nature walk with a little bit of history. An interpretive sign and a parking lot are found at the trailhead for this short hike.
