Description
Apex Trail is the main trail connecting many of the Apex Park trails. You can start on the west (top) end off of Lookout Mountain Road or from the east (bottom) off of the Heritage Park parking lot, depending on the day. It's a steep ascent as you work your way up this one. It's steep enough to get your heart rate up, and characteristics like water bars and large rocks keep it interesting. The way back is similar and can be hard on the knees. You'll be encompassed in a rugged valley for most of the duration of the trail.

Some Issues
Access from the west end is all mud. The trail isn’t closed and you can take the enchanted forest trail which is packed snow. However the Apex trail should be avoided while it’s this muddy.
