Description
The Navajo Trail Loop is a 6 mile single track route that begins at a campground and connects to the Virgin River Rim Trail (a long distance trail in Dixie National Forest). This route is suitable for hikers, trail runners and mountain bikers. The trail features beautiful mountain scenery and grand views of Navajo Lake. The loop can be completed in any direction, however, the route featured here is clockwise. The loop is fairly straightforward but there are plenty of opportunities to extend it and explore more trails within the area. Starting from the Navajo Lake Campground, take the Navajo Trail uphill for 1.2 miles. When you reach the top of the climb turn right and take the Virgin River Rim Trail west for 2.5 miles. When you reach the next trail junction, turn right for Navajo Lake Loop Trail and hike downhill towards the lake. This trail will eventually be parallel to the road and will lead you back to the campground where you started.
