Description
Big Blue Creek is a favorite for hikers and fishermen. There is a 12 mile access from Highway 149. Before reaching the trailhead, there is a campground to car camp or tent camp. The trailhead is another mile past the campground. The trail runs along the Big Blue Creek and is relatively flat with little elevation gain. Beware of river crossings in years where the snowfall has been heavy. Up near the saddle that separates Big Blue from Nellie Creek, it is common to see large herds of sheep grazing in the open pastures.
