The Koloa Heritage trail is a 10-mile path existing mostly along the shoreline between Spouting Horn Park and Makawihe Dunes just east of Shipwreck's Beach. The trail spends a lot of time on the road and some of the time on paths. This adventure guide details the short 0.6-mile section between Pe'e Road Keonloea Bay Trailhead (1.2 miles total). This is a short, but very scenic section of trail. A photographer could easily spend hours here shooting sunrise and sunset. Birdwatchers can enjoy (quietly) viewing the wedge-tailed shearwater nesting. But any hiker would agree the views are the highlight. Rocky, steep cliffs jut up from the ocean to a formidable bluff offering expansive views of the Pacific Ocean and the mountains below Haupu to the south.
