Loop
From the day parking lot at Lake Oowah Campground, head up a fairly steep hill for half a mile. This is a tough start, but it's by far the hardest section of the loop, so don't get demoralized right off the bat.Eventually, the pines morph into aspen groves, which give way to large meadows filled with flowers in late June through August. The La Sal Mountains are right in your face and are quite impressive.Clark Lake appears below to the right, and you break off the Clark Lake Trail #141 and head down steeply to the lake. Enjoy some time here and then find the Clark Lake Loop Trail #144 in a much wetter section of forest. This north slope is noticeably cooler than the trail you've been on, and the vegetation is more lush. After reaching the final junction with the Boren Mesa Trail #037, it's an easy cruise back to the start.
