Loop
Biscuit Basin is a great little spot located between Madison Junction and Old Faithful. This is a short lollipop loop that is less than one mile round trip and is very family friendly. There is virtually no elevation gain. For such a short hike there are lots of things to see. I think this is one of the more diverse and unique geothermal basins in the park and is usually a little less crowded since most tour buses don't stop here. There are geysers, hot springs, and fumaroles here. The trail starts out by crossing the Firehole River. It's crazy how much different one pool can be from the next and several seem like things from different planets. The area changes a lot year to year and based on weather and lighting. For such a short hike this one packs a lot in. I think it's a great one for just about anyone and is a great way to see some of the colorful pools Yellowstone has to offer. Be sure to check out Mystic Falls while here! The trail begins from the boardwalk.
