Description
This loop starts at a conveniently accessed trailhead across from the volleyball court at Forsyth County's Triad Park. Although the park map reports the loop length as 0.95 miles, the path will be closer to 0.80 miles if done continuously without overlapping travel on a couple of the side trails. The starting point is at the highest elevation. Hiking the trail counter-clockwise (to the right at the trailhead), there is roughly a 0.5 mile intermittent descent of ~40 feet along some ridges to the lowest-lying area. Not too far from the start, a ropes course will be visible in the middle of the loop--it is accessible by one of a couple side trails. At the lowest part of the trail, the creek can be crossed to access Woodland Hall Parking Lot or head back to the entrance of the park. Most of the trail is hard-packed, but can get a little soft in the low-lying areas after rain.
