In order to get to this trail you'll most likely park at the Johnston Ridge Observatory at the end of paved WA 504. Follow the Boundary Trail for a short distance to a clearly marked intersection. This would make a nice out-and-back hike for those looking for an easy hike with incredible views.
Harry's Ridge climbs up a clear open ridgeline, following more of a squiggle-route than switchbacks as the slope isn't super steep. It gets flatter as you progress while the views get better. After a short distance you'll be treated to an awesome view of Mount Adams over Spirit Lake. Look for the massive flotilla of logs knocked down by the 1980 blast on the lake far below. You'll also start getting glimpses of Mount Hood to the southeast of Saint Helens as you climb higher. Of course Saint Helens dominates this region! You can take the trail to the end or turn around when you're satisfied, but you'll have to retrace your steps to get back to whatever trailhead you started at.
