The Timberview Trail is a former logging road which provides a mostly gentle descent with views of the deep ravine on your left. After about 0.8 miles of travel, Timberview intersects with the Crosscut Trail on the left. Crosscut Trail can be used to avoid doing a steep up-and-down over a hump on Timberview.
Regardless of whether you use the Crosscut Trail short cut or stay on Timberview, the descent continues as a hillside contour before arriving at an small open meadow area. On your left near here is a short trail to the Old Growth Redwood. This one tree made it through the logging era while the entire forest was clear cut!
Retrace your steps back out to the Timberview Trail and continue downhill. The remainder of the trail is mellow with the notable exception of an extremely steep section on Timberview between the Giant Salamander Trail junction and the Gordon Mill Trail junction. Note: bikes are allowed on the Timberview Trail.
