Point to Point
The Soundview Trail takes hikers through forests, along a ridgeline, and down to the shoreline of Chambers Bay and the Puget Sound.
Starting near a large parking area for the Chambers Bay Golf Course, the trail meanders west toward the park below, making its way down a steep hill (at one point with a 13% grade) to the park's main parking area.
Upon reaching a junction with the Central Meadow Outer Loop, veer right and follow the trail past large concrete structures that remain as some of the last monuments to this area's past as a working mine.
From here, the trail leaves the grassy fields of the open park for another grassy landscape belonging to the Chambers Bay Golf Course. Meandering amongst the rolling hills of the course, enjoy the landscape's dune-like feel before reaching the water's edge. Enjoy a brief, up-close glimpse at the water and nearby train tracks, which are still in use, before diving into the trees and beginning the uphill portion of the trail.
Within the forest, the trail switchbacks casually as it gains elevation until reaching its end in a junction with the Grandview Trail.
