Coreopsis Trail

Starting at parking lot, this is a wide mowed grass trail in a prairie with no shade that follows along train tracks. There are several interpretive signs describing the prairie. Some maps show the trail continuing on past the 2nd interpretive sign around the perimeter of the forest preserve, but this is not recommended because it is not well maintained due to taller grass and very uneven ground. It is recommended for this to be an out and back trail.
