Hike and Bike Trail

This flood dike path is a perfect place to hike away from traffic. Starting at the south end, there is a short climb to the top of the dike and then you're on your way to the park in downtown Arkansas City. The path goes by Veterans Memorial Lake which has a paved path around it. At the North end of the trail is Paris Park which boasts a host of activities suitable for kids or families. In a somewhat suburban area, this is a great way to get outside and enjoy the natural area found along the Arkansas River. A bald eagle nests in the woods to the west of the south end of the trail, so keep your eyes open for her!
