Description
The Beehive Trail is one of the most popular features and trails in Acadia, but the steep vertical climbing and airy drop-offs are scary for some folks. If you'd like to enjoy the stunning views from the top of The Beehive, but don't want to work your way up to the summit on the Beehive Trail, this is a great alternative. The trail branches off the Bowl Trail and climbs around the backside of The Beehive. It then intersects the Beehive Trail. Turn right to head to the summit, which offers dramatic views of Sand Beach. Thanks to guidebook author and photographer, James Kaiser, for sharing this trail description. To learn more about visiting Acadia, check out his Guide to Acadia National Park.
