This hike starts and ends at the Fish Lake Lodge. The trail on the west side is well maintained and easy. The trail on the east side has some big climbs and difficult footing at times but the views are worth it!Start your hike on Lakeshore Trail: Section 2. Section 2 parallels the highway for a while and then crosses the highway. The trail then goes up Pelican Point. The trail gets further from the lake and the road but still parallels the highway. The north portion of this trail, just before the Lake Creek Trailhead, is the hardest to follow but is mostly open sage. If you lose the trail, just continue to head toward the highway and the trailhead. The Lake Creek Trailhead has a vault toilet and good parking.Continuing onto Lakeshore Trail: Section 3, you'll follow the east shore before doing a big climb to the ridge above the lake. If you are doing this trail at the end of the summer, make sure to enjoy the wild raspberries growing on the hillside as you do the climb.Lakeshore Trail: Section 4 continues along the ridge before dropping back to the shore around the south end of the lake. Enjoy the beaver dams in the lake on the south end.The last section will be on the easy Lakeshore Trail: Section 1. It is a well-maintained, easy to follow gravel path. There are some great views and access to the lake. This portion parallels the highway along the shore and returns you to your start point at Fish Lake Lodge.
