Horseshoe Springs is located right off the Skull Valley Road about 10 miles south of the I-80 exit. The parking lot is located a few hundred yards from Skull Valley Road and the springs are located right where you park on BLM land. Mosquitoes, gnats, flies and other bugs were plentiful and annoying in the spring and summer months. So if you plan to visit in the warmer months you may have swarms of bugs. Just bring some bug repellent. This is also a fun place to visit in the winter. From the parking lot, you will cross a bridge which takes you over a narrow canal which also has brackish (slightly salty) water. The path winds around the two ponds and meets back up at the parking lot. This is a historical spring as it is written in journals of early pioneers who were on their way to California through the Hastings Cutoff. On a more recent visit the wooden boardwalk was gone but you can still walk on the dirt trail.
