The nonstop tight skinny switchbacks on John's are somewhat monotonous for hikers.

Description
Most people hiking John's Trail take the Town chairlift up, and the trail down, or do John's as an out-and-back. Alternatively, it can be made part of a long loop with Jenni's Trail. Starting from the top of the Town Lift, head uphill for just a few feet then turn left (northeast) to begin a twisty, tight, non-stop descent that feels like you're in deep aspen forests the whole time. To reach town from the end of John's trail, take Sweeney's Switchbacks Trail. You'll frequently get near the rusty historic towers that supported the ore mining carts. Note: bikes are allowed on this trail.
