Chapel Rock Trail

This easy trail is a nice 3-mile, mostly doubletrack trail through the wooded areas along Chapel Lake. From the east side of Chapel Lake, you'll pass Chapel Falls on your way to Chapel Beach. At Chapel Beach, view Chapel Rock, a picturesque formation of the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. The trail can be used as part of the Chapel Basin loop to view Lake Superior and the rock formations of Pictured Rocks. Most of the trail was wet or muddy, suffering from trail widening due to heavy use and mud avoidance. Please respect the park and the ecosystem by not widening the sides of the route to avoid mud.
