Description
The Green Trail splits of from the main trail ( Red Trail) and follows a forested ridge until you switchback down to the Middle Patuxent River. The trail flattens out and alternates between sand and mud as you hike along the river. Along this section, you'll pass some ruins of an old quarry. After rounding a corner where the two rivers converge prepare for a steep and rocky ascent back up on the ridge. The trail then empties back out onto the main trail.
