Parking is available at the junction of Wolverine Loop Road and Horse Canyon Road. The remoteness of the area means that visitors should be fully prepared with all necessary supplies before departing. Backpacking in Grand Staircase-Escalante requires a permit, which can be obtained at any of the monument's visitor centers. Dispersed camping is permitted along Horse Canyon Road.
