Farmington Bay Nature Trail

The Farmington Bay Waterfowl Management Area Nature Trail is a flat short trail within a preserve area that is a popular birding spot.The area contains numerous ponds and pools, bird blinds, quiet roads and an education center open to the public. The Nature Trail is a scenic 1.4 mile loop path that circles a central pond. Along the way are several small viewing docks, lengths of boardwalk path crossing above the wetlands, benches with views across the water, and wide views of the Wasatch front range to the immediate east.The path is well maintained gravel, and is an easy walk for families with children. Dogs are permitted on leash. Several benches sit along the way offering the chance to shady areas to sit down along the water's edge.The area sees dozens of species of birds and waterfowl, many of which can be easily seen from the path.The Eccles Wildlife Education Center is located in the same parking area as the trailhead. There are also vault toilets located in the parking lot.Visitors should be warned that the parking area is only open limited hours.
