Description
Jim Creek starts near water and hikes around a wetland that often has wildlife in it. As you start to ascend the valley, remember to look behind you for amazing views of Winter Park. James Peak and Perrys Peak are the two most prominent peaks above the valley. As you get closer to James Peak, the terrain around you'll grow more dramatic. Nearing the end of the trail, the formerly calm creek becomes steeper and faster, and you'll get some beautiful views of a waterfall.
History & Background
A huge blowdown event in 2020 leveled much of this forest, leaving wide clearings that are beginning to regrow.
