Path Type
Point to Point
The Zinker Canyon Trail is an intermediate difficulty 3.8 mile (one way) doubletrack trail along closed Lincoln National Forest FSR roads in Zinker Canyon. The trail runs from Dry Canyon Road on the east to the Wofford Lookout on the west. It intersects with the FSR 162A Wofford Extension trail on the west, allowing a 4.5 mile one way hike. The eastern side of the trail has a gradual incline that runs through open portions of the canyon, while the western 1.5 miles is more protected by trees with a moderate incline. Zinker Canyon is home to several bands of wild horses, and they can often be seen in open areas near the mid point of the trail if one hikes fairly quietly.
