Bly Gap Trail

The Nantahala Hiking Club uses this seldom used trail to maintain the AT from the GA/NC line to Deep Gap, NC. This trail was last blazed on 8/7/2019. Due to logistics, it is not a preferable way to access the AT. From Eagle Fork Road in the Shooting Creek community, turn left on to Bly Gap Road. In a very short distance you'll come to a USFS locked gate. From this point it is about 1.3 miles to a "parking" area where the trail begins at the far end of the parking. Blazing begins shortly thereafter and trail continues uphill for 1.8 to 2 miles to Bly Gap. Water can be found along the way.
