Kolokee Loop Trail

The Kolokee Loop Trail begins at the Barr Street Trailhead and travels east as it follows a series of white-blazes to reach a large clearing. There, you'll see what looks like a forest service doubletrack on the left and the river to the right. Follow the well-marked orange-blazes that lead off along the river bluff. Along the way, there are all sorts of places to explore down by the river's edge. When you come to a wooden bridge, the trail turns left to follow the Flagler Trail for a short distance to a couple of benches and then the white-blazes start on the left. Just follow them back through the forest until they meet up with the orange-blazes back at the clearing. Nothing about this hike is difficult, but be sure to bring water because it is Florida and normally pretty warm. If the river level is high, some parts of the off shoot trails may be covered in mud or water. Each time I visit I see something new on this excellent hike.
