The park is open 5AM to 10PM daily. This park has both summer and winter trails; the route described here is only possible on summer trails. There are no fees or permits required to use this park.

Summer trails here are not named; they simply run between signed and numbered intersections. This route starts from the Horse Trail Entrance just off unpaved Sunset Lake Road. To do this route counter-clockwise, go from the trailhead to Intersection 30 and continue on through Intersections 31, 28, 33, 34, 35, 41, 40, 38, 40, 39, and 47. Circle around the lake back to Intersection 38 (again), then 37, 29, and the trailhead. During the Spring snow melt, the section of trail on the east side of Minnregs Lake (between Intersections 47 and 38) may be flooded.
