There and Back
A hike to the top of Table Mountain is one of the most rewarding in the Columbia River Gorge, though it does take a little spirit and strength to complete the climb. Stunning views open up once you emerge from the forest. Looking downriver you will see Larch Butte and Hamilton Mountain, and from the summit the views of the region's grand volcanoes come into full view: Mount Hood, Mount St. Helens, Mount Adams, Mount Rainier and even the tip of Mount Jefferson. The Bonneville Trailhead is on the Pacific Crest Trail, which made the hike 15 miles there-and-back.
